How does a church go about obeying Jesus when He tells us to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20)? At Christ Community Church, we believe one of the key components for us is to meet in smaller groups during the week, which we’re calling A2 Groups.

A2 Groups get their name from Acts 2, where we find a summary description of life together for the early church: “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.” This description feels both normal and radical: to grow under Biblical (“apostles”) teaching, life together (“fellowship…the breaking of bread”) and praying together (“the prayers”).

To seek to accomplish this at CCC, we have 2 different types of small groups: A2 Home Groups and A2 Friend Groups.

A2 Home Groups are small groups that meet in homes, mixed gender, and follow a specific schedule throughout the year (Including Bible study, evangelism/prayer training, and learning spiritual disciplines).

A2 Friend Groups are smaller than Home Groups, consisting typically of 3-4 people, same gender. These groups are more flexible for where and when to meet. They center around 3 main goals: in the Word together, confessing sin together, and praying together for the lost. These groups can be tailored to the season of life and needs and needs of each group.
